The Third Annual History of Black Columbus Conference will convene on Saturday, May 13, from 9:00 am-4:00 pm at The Ohio State University Department of African American and African Studies Community Extension Center located at 905 Mount Vernon Ave.

The History of Black Columbus Conference will bring the Columbus community together to celebrate the rich history of African Americans in Columbus and increase awareness regarding the significant contribution African Americans have made in all areas of life in the city.  The conference will feature photo exhibits, seminars and presentations.

Presenters will share their perspective from the past, present and future on the impact of education on Columbus’s African American students. Morning sessions will explore how various components of the community have influenced the education of African American students. Afternoon sessions will present education as it is today by highlighting current options related to school choices.
