The Ray Miller Institute for Change & Leadership

“Being the change you wish to see”

Presented by the Department of African American and African Studies Community Extension Center & the Office of Continuing Education at The Ohio State University and The Center for Urban Progress, The Ray Miller Institute for Change & Leadership is a 10-week course designed to cultivate the knowledge and skills necessary for effective leadership by providing training in critical areas such as: These and other areas of leadership will be discussed and presented by leaders from area businesses, civic organizations, and The Ohio State University community.

The sessions will be facilitated by the Honorable Senator Ray Miller (Ohio 15th District, Columbus) and Dr. Judson L. Jeffries. Senator Miller serves as the President for the Center for Urban Progress. Dr. Jeffries is a Professor of African American and African Studies and Director of the AAASCEC.

The Institute begins March 31 and continues to June 2, 2008. Classes will be held weekly on Monday evenings from 5:30-8:45p.m. except on Tuesday, April 29th and Tuesday, May 27th at The Ohio State University Department of African American and African Studies Community Extension Center located at 905 Mount Vernon Avenue.

Multi-disciplinary approach

Each session of the Institute will be taught using a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership focusing on the areas of Business, Government and the Non-profit sectors.
